Sporting Clays For Fund Raising

I was recently hired to photograph a local school fundraiser involving sporting clays. No need to say more, I was hooked. Cobining two things I love…photography and shooting…who could ask for more!

Anyway it was a day this Nashville event photographer really enjoyed because I was around happy people and smiling faces all day. If you are not aware, sporting clays is a spots where you try to shoot irridescent clay targets flying through the air with a shotgun. Sometimes referred to as trap or skeet, but generally known as sporting clays.

It was a shotgun start and every team was competing for the best scores and the best prizes. All while having fun and razzing their buddies. Whether you were a fantastic marksman or not, it was a day to be outdoors, have fun and shoot some clays.

As a Nashville event photographer, it was a challenge to capture moving clays and ejecting shotgun shells, gun smoke and more. I love the challenge that comes with event photography like this.

I followed all the teams through their multiple sporting clay scenarios and captured all angles of their competition. After the competition everyone settled in for a big barbeque lunch and a silent auction. The school raised good money for their programs and all had a great time.
